For my 20 time project, my main original goal was to inspire and motivate people. As time went on and the project became more in sight, I decided to join up with some of my friends with the same interests as I had. As we discussed more and more, we realized that the best way to fully keep us engaged in what our goal was and to grab our audience was to create something that was close to all of our hearts. That ended up being football.
The original idea/plan was to make a football camp to introduce the incoming freshman to the Saratoga Football Program, as well as our weight lifting program. We were very excited to get rolling and start something that we were super passionate about! Then, we hit our first setback. We went to talk to the athletic director of our school, Coach Lugo, and we found out that the camp might be a liability issue to run the camp. We were then forced to think outside of the box and come up with a solution to what our next move would be. We then thought of getting on social media! We thought that this was a good idea because we could not only reach our specific audience, but also reach out to a larger group of people as well. As time went on and the account started to get more and more followers, we started thinking about posting some content. We also hit more setbacks along the way with getting quality content. We originally were set on recording our own material, but the videos we got did not turn out as well as we pictured them. We then had to change our route a bit and think about linking other people’s workout routines in our posts. Nearing the end of the process, we ended up feeling that we should not only provide information on routines, but also motivation for our followers as well.
Overall, I think the project went much better than I thought it would. My group and I all felt that we ended up where we wanted to be in the end of the project, no matter how messy the path was to get there. We started off broad with the camp for young kids coming into the football program, but then narrowed our focus into being more of what we wanted out of the project in the first place: to inspire people and motivate them to be the best possible version of themselves. This project was very hard to think of at first, but I think it was very cool how no matter what path anyone took, they still were going to end up doing something that reached their starting goal. If I had the chance to do this project again, I would get a head start much earlier. With a head start, I would be able to foresee the setbacks ahead and plan for them to come so I could adapt easily and come out with a more satisfying project as a whole.
I would like to think of this 20 time project as more of a first step. I would love to continue to inspire and help people become better and feel much better about themselves through hard work and dedication. Whether this will be expanding my media or making my own content, I look forward to the road ahead of me. I know that I will be doing the right thing and I hope that my groupmates and other people as well continue to follow me and hopefully join my passion and feel as deeply about it as I do. We have come a long way from our first plan to our final product. This is the link to the final product of what we have done and I like to think about this as the beginning https://www.instagram.com/togafootball/
